Module 6 - An Introduction to Tinnitus and Its Management

This unit begins with introducing the idea that tinnitus is a symptom that can reflect different pathological processes affecting both auditory and extra-auditory structures. We will explore what these various pathologies could be, and what to look for. The importance of making referrals will be highlighted, and an example letter will be provided. This unit encourages students to explore the balance between the need for detailed medical information while remaining person-centered.
