Parents' perspective

Below is a series of interviews with parents whose children failed the newborn hearing screening test. The interviews offer important insights into the parents' perspective, experiences, and needs when their child is first diagnosed with hearing loss.

You can use these videos to reflect on the assistance you provide to parents in your own practice and to think about whether there are things you would like to do differently to better meet their needs.

The videos were funded by the Ida Institute and the Barber Institute. The interviews with parents were conducted by psychologist and Ida Fellow Dr. Sam Trychin.
