eLearning and Innovation Specialist Jamie Owen will give the presentation, "Telehealth in Audiology: Engaging and Motivating Patients Online," focusing on telehealth and Ida’s Telecare Tools. The presentation will look at telehealth in the broadest sense, introducing participants to the concept, Ida’s work with it through our Vision 2020 process, and the [...] the emerging trends we’ve identified. We will highlight the benefits of telehealth for both clinicians and people with hearing loss. There will also be an introduction to the Ida Telecare platform and how hearing care professionals can bring person-centered care into teleaudiology. 2015. Fifteen participants from eight countries met over a day and a half to discuss how hearing healthcare professionals and tinnitus patients manage tinnitus. We wish to thank all of our collaborators for their input and hard work to make these tools a reality, and look forward to hearing from our community about their use. The Tinnitus Thermometer is designed to help patients articulate how they feel about their tinnitus on any given day. Summer Camp participants were introduced to the concept and importance of Communication Partners [...] presentation placed a particular focus on Goal Sharing for Partners, and the participants learned how and when to introduce the tool in their session. They then split off into pairs and practiced using the tool, imaging how Gill and John would answer the questions. “Successes, Gaps and Challenges in CI Rehabilitation: The CI Journey for Children and their Families” seminar in April 2015. The Journey of Life tool presents hearing impairment as a lifelong journey with different milestones to be reached and passed through. The tool will enable hearing care professionals to work with parents and children to set goals [...] helping them to make decisions with the hearing care professional and personalizing the child’s care. Topics to be addressed by the tool will include everyday needs, feelings, technology, and resources.
