Ida Institute Booth and Presentations at the 2019 AAA Conference

By Amanda Farah Cox

The Ida Institute is getting ready for the annual AAA Conference, which will be held this year in Columbus, OH, from 27-30 March. Ida will have a booth at location #1006 where we will share our latest projects.

New Ida Tools app

We are pleased to launch a new, free app to make it easier to bookmark and share your favorite Ida tools. The app allows clinicians to easily access and share relevant tools with their clients to prepare them in advance for their appointments or share tools with their colleagues. The app will be available as of next week from the App Store and Google Play.

Enhanced pediatric portfolio

Ida is especially excited to share our newest pediatric materials: A new chapter of our Transitions Management platform for children ages 0-3 and the free tablet and desktop app of our My World tool. Long time Ida collaborator Eileen Rall, AuD, of the Center for Childhood Communication at Children's Hospital of Philadelphia, will also be at our booth discussing future plans for pediatric resources. Come by our booth on Friday, 29 March, at 12:00 to ask Eileen questions and share your opinions about needs and gaps in pediatric audiology resources. If you’re not at AAA, you can still contribute by filling out this survey.

New educational resources

Ida is continuing to expand our educational resources. We have recently launched new modules on tele-audiology and tinnitus both as part of our University Course and as CEU/CPD-accredited courses in the Learning Hall.

New tool to communicate hearing test results in a person-centered way

AAA will be your chance to get a first look at the prototype of a new tool intended to make it easier for hearing care professionals to communicate a person’s hearing status to them in a way that is meaningful and easy to understand.

The prototype is the outcome of an innovation process including ethnographic observations, surveys, workshops and interviews with patients and clinicians. The new prototype will be discussed and tested at the Ida booth throughout the conference.

Inspired by Ida

Finally, Ida is continuing to promote our Inspired by Ida initiative. Learn how you or your clinic can earn our Inspired label. Visit us at booth #1006 for more information about these activities and other Ida resources.
