Ida Institute is proud to announce that we have partnered with the Department of Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology at the Bauru School of Dentistry,University of São Paulo, Brazil (FOB/USP). The establishment of the formal partnership between the Ida Institute and FOB/USP strengthens the collaboration already in progress, and marks a new phase focused on transforming person-centered theory into practice.

“This agreement will serve as a guide for the first partnership of the Ida Institute in Latin America, aimed at strengthening person-centered care activism in the region, preparing individuals for leadership roles, and exploring different cultural perspectives in the person-centered approach,” said Deborah V. Ferrari, Associate Professor at FOB/USP.

Since 2009, Ida and professors at FOB/USP have been collaborating to advance the person-centered approach to hearing care. Previous activities have included workshops; research concerning the use of the Motivational Tools, My World, and Time and Talk; and implementing Ida materials in undergraduate, graduate, continuing education, and distance-learning curricula.

The FOB/USP collaboration is the second of forthcoming foundational partnerships between the Ida Institute and key stakeholders in the field of hearing care, including universities around the world, professional organizations, and patient associations.
