The Ida Institute is pleased to announce the projects that have been awarded grants through our Research Committee . Projects headed by Nerina Scarinci, Katie Ekberg, and Janet Jamieson have each been awarded funds to further research regarding Ida tools and person-centered care. The first project, led by Nerina Scarinci at the University of Queensland [...] opposed to the negatives of living with hearing loss. It will involve training audiologists to use Living Well and will gauge audiologist, person with hearing loss, and communication partner reactions to appointments involving the tool. The article, “ Application of the transtheoretical model of behavior change for [...] history in order to ensure that the PHL’s needs and wants are clear and recommend the use of open-ended questions. They also recommend the participation of communication partners in the appointment, and suggest using Ida’s Motivation Tools to get a fuller picture of the client’s readiness for change. Since the online launch, they have had over 8000 views, 35% of which come from outside the UK, which has led the group to look into translating the materials into other languages [...] C2Hear first began in 2011 when the team collected input from more than 30 hearing aid users who through focus groups and workshops said what would have been useful to know when they first received hearing aids. C2Hear began life as a DVD, and has recently launched online thanks to the positive reactions to the materials.
