The Line This simple, effective tool is based on a line, two questions, and the clients’ responses. The first question allows you to assess how important your client feels it is for them to improve their hearing. The second one helps you appraise how confident they are that they can follow through with recommended treatment. The Box The Box is an effective way to help ambivalent clients and explore with them what might encourage them to take action on their hearing loss. By answering the four questions in the Box, the client is prompted to think about the pros and cons of either doing nothing about their hearing loss or acting on it.
