The Ida Institute will convene its newest educational seminar series: Motivational Engagement this May. Distinguished faculty members Prof. Dave Fabry, Prof. John Greer Clark, Dr. Lorraine Gailey and Dr. Hanne Tønnesen have worked with Ida to create a unique seminar series focused on how audiologists and other hearing healthcare professionals can stimulate patient motivation and/or help ensure existing motivation remains high enough to achieve favorable outcomes.
This series will emphasize specific aspects of the clinician-patient interaction that may contribute to raising (or lowering) patient motivation. For example, one aspect to consider will be the way in which the audiologist engages with the patient from the first moments in the clinic and the impact this engagement process can have on the audiologist’s potential to influence a patient’s willingness to embrace future recommendations.
‘We are very excited about this new series of seminars which we hope will be impactful on daily practice and help audiologists and their patients find better outcomes and satisfaction in their interventions whether that involves the use of hearing instruments, attending a communication skills program or adopting any other hearing care solution,’ said Lise Lotte Bundesen, director of the Ida Institute.
All Ida seminars use the Ida Institute framework to offer participants the chance to explore both their own practices and the practice of audiology within a wider global context.
