The Ida Institute is pleased to announce its participation in the 48th annual Convention of Indian Speech and Hearing Association next month. The conference, held in Mumbai, India, from 5-7 February, will cover topics ranging from hearing conservation to how technological advancements affect persons with hearing loss to auditory responses in cochlear implant patients of different ages.
Ida Senior Audiologist Melanie Gregory and Learning Specialist Ena Nielsen will give three workshops on 4 February as part of a pre-conference CEP. Each workshop will be an hour-and-a-half long. The topics include: Patient Centered Care: What does it take to make it happen?; Identifying Patient Motivation to improve outcomes: The line, the circle and the box; and Living well with hearing loss: A counseling tool to enable improved communication in daily life.
Ida’s workshops will introduce the importance of counseling. They are part of a day-long seminar; other topics include auditory processing in adults and the relationship between hearing loss and cognitive decline.
Ida’s participation at the conference was facilitated with the help of Ida fellow Dr. Kalyani Mandke, who participated in our Cochlear Implant Journey seminar last year.
