Ida in ENT and Audiology News

By Amanda Farah Cox

The Ida Institute is very excited to be featured in two articles in the latest issue of ENT and Audiology News magazine.

The first article is by Berth Danermark at the Audiological Research Centre at Örebro University in Örebro, Sweden. Dr. Danermark is a former Ida advisory board member and a former participant at an Ida Seminar. His article focuses on patient centered care in audiology and what factors allow or prevent audiologists from implementing these approaches in their practices. His results are based on a questionnaire that was handed out at an Ida Seminar in 2012. The study looks at the use of the Ida Motivation Tools, which were considered the second-most important factor in facilitating patient centered care. The study concluded that the importance of the Ida Tools stems from the training and structure they provide in implementing patient centered principles in a clinic. Dr. Danermark’s study was funded in part by the Ida Institute.

ENT and Audiology News also featured a brief interview with Director Lise Lotte Bundesen on our Teens and Tweens Dilemma Game. The tool, which aims to help hearing care professionals understand the needs of their teen and tween patients, is available for free in our Tool Room.

Both articles can be found in the September/October issue of ENT and Audiology News, out now.
