Celebrate Audiology Awareness Month with Three Monkeys Poster

By Timothy Cooke

The Ida Institute has collaborated with the American Academy of Audiology Foundation to create and distribute a poster based on one of the winning ideas from our Ideas Competition: the Three Wise Monkeys.

The release of the poster this fall coincides with National Audiology Awareness Month in the United States, which takes place in October. We would like to thank the Oticon Foundation for making this collaboration possible.

We encourage everyone to use the Three Wise Monkeys poster to raise public awareness of the importance of regular, hearing screenings. The poster can be placed in a variety of different settings, such as hearing clinics, schools, universities, hospitals, and family medical practices.

"The Ideas Competition sparked the creativity and passion of people around the world," said Lise Lotte Bundesen, managing director of Ida Institute. "All of the ideas focused on bringing hearing health and health loss into the mainstream of public awareness, but we are especially pleased that the clever Three Monkeys poster will be available to the audiology community since audiologists have a special concern in sharing the value of regular hearing care with the public.”

Incoming chair of the American Academy of Audiology Foundation Board, Angela Shoup, added, “National Audiology Awareness Month is the perfect time for audiologists to promote, not only the work they do, but the importance of hearing checkups as part of routine medical care. We thank the Ida Institute for their leadership on this project, and appreciate the chance to work with their team to increase public awareness about audiology care.”

Please download the poster and show your support for making hearing screenings and hearing healthcare a natural part of everyday life.
