The Ida Institute is pleased to announce the establishment of partnerships with the University of Cape Town, South Africa; Self-Help for Hard of Hearing (SHHH), Australia; and the Ear Foundation, United Kingdom.

“Our latest partnerships expand opportunities for collaboration around the globe in the development and implementation of person-centered hearing care,” says Lise Lotte Bundesen, Managing Director of the Ida Institute. “By partnering with universities, patient organizations, and professional organizations, we are able to bring together many different perspectives across the field of hearing care to enrich the quality and impact of person-centered care around the world.  We are especially pleased to be announcing today our first partnership in Africa, and our first in Australia.”

Christine Hunter, President of SHHH said, “We very much look forward to our ongoing collaboration with the Ida Institute as we all work towards achieving better global hearing health outcomes. Like the Ida Institute, we also understand and appreciate the value of person-centeredness when applied to hearing management.”

University of Cape Town Associate Professor Michelle Pascoe said, "The Division of Communication Sciences and Disorders at the University of Cape Town embraces people-centered care as a core value. We are very excited about our collaborative partnership with the Ida institute that will help us facilitate and strengthen our focus on person-centered care. We hope to reform our classroom, and clinical and research training, to in turn influence the future of hearing healthcare and rehabilitation professionals in order to provide holistic evidence based person-centered care."

The latest partners join a strong network of Ida collaborators working toward making hearing care more person-centered around the world, including Hearing Loss Association of America; Action on Hearing Loss (UK); the University of São Paulo, Brazil; British Society of Audiology (UK); Aston University (UK); and Høreforeningen (Denmark).
