One seminar has ended, and a new one is soon to begin. In January, 24 hearing care professionals from around the world attended the first seminar in our three-part series titled: Patient-Centered Care: Fluff, Fact, or Fiction. This February, another multi-national group of hearing care professionals will travel to Denmark to partake in our second seminar and further explore the topic of patient-centered care.
During January’s seminar, we examined the concept of patient-centered care and considered what it means to practice in a patient-centered care way. Through interactive exercises, lectures, role-play exercises, and facilitated discussions, we explored patient-centered care from the perspective of both the patient and the hearing care professional. We looked into the underlying skills and practical tools that could help anchor patient-centered care in daily practice.
On 24 February, we will commence our second seminar. We look forward to reexamining the concept of patient-centered care with an entirely new group of hearing care professionals. Applying different perspectives to the same topic over the course of three seminars serves to enrich our understanding of the topic. By the end of the seminar series, 75 hearing care professionals will have collaborated with each other to create new knowledge about patient-centered care.
