Ida Research Committee Accepting Applications for Grants

By Amanda Farah Cox

The Ida Institute’s Research Committee is now accepting grant applications. The Ida Institute has designated USD 30,000 for grants, with a maximum USD 10,000 available for individual grants. The research projects should focus on either measuring outcomes of person-centered care or engaging communication partners in hearing rehabilitation.

“We are increasingly aware of the ongoing need for robust research to develop evidence related to both our initiatives and tools and to person-centered care in hearing help seeking,” says Ida Institute Managing Director Lise Lotte Bundensen. “In collaboration with our Research Committee, we aim to promote interest and research in this area and contribute to the development of a solid evidence base for person-centered care in audiology.”

Applications will be judged by the Ida Research Committee, chaired by Louise Hickson, PhD, Profesor of Audiology and Co-Director, Communication Disability Centre, The University of Queensland. She is joined by Dr. Melanie Ferguson, Consultant Clinical Scientist (Audiology), Hon. Associate Professor and Research Lead, NIHR Nottingham Hearing Biomedical Research Unit in Hearing; Sophia Kramer, PhD,  University Research Chair, Auditory Functioning and Participation, Department of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery, Section Ear & Hearing EMGO Institute for Health and Care Research; Joseph Montano, EdD, Chief of Audiology and Speech Language Pathology, New York Presbyterian Hospital-Weill Cornell Medical Center; and Elisabet Thorén, PhD, Project Manager and Research Audiologist, Eriksholm Research Centre.
