Ida Finishes the Final Defining Hearing Seminar

By Sharmi Albrechtsen

With more than 65 participants in total, the Defining Hearing seminar series ended with the latest seminar in late February.

The Ida Institute was extremely pleased with the outcome from the seminar series: The Process of Defining Hearing. We are looking forward to our new series: Motivational Engagement starting in May.

The seminars are designed to take advantage of the professional and clinical experience of participants, many of whom work in universities, public and private hearing care clinics. They along with our staff and faculty are essential in creating tools and materials for health care professionals. For example, a new patient journey tool will be unveiled at AAA this year that includes the ideas and comments of all seminar participants.

‘But the patient journey tool is just one of the many tools and educational materials that we will be producing thanks to the explorative and collaborative nature of the seminars. For example, clinical case studies from the participants audiology clinics will also be used for role playing exercises,' said Lise Lotte Bundesen, Director.

In addition, Ida ‘fellows’ are expected to implement local initiatives such as knowledge-sharing and networking exercises in the hearing care communities in which they work.
