The Ida Institute is pleased to announce the launch today of our new Ida Basics course. Ida Basics is a brief course designed as an introduction to the fundamentals of patient centered care. Through Ida Basics, users will learn how to implement patient centered care in their practices and have an opportunity to reflect on their current methods, as well as get inspiration for future interactions.
The course can be completed in as little as 60 minutes. Activities include a 20 minute webinar presented by Sue Ann Erdman, the Director of ARCCS, which gives a brief history of patient centered care; the short ethnographic video, “Oh Good, I Can Talk to My Kids,” where we see how to apply patient centered care in a clinical setting, as well as the clinician’s reactions; and a trial of Ida’s Dilemma Game, which gives users an opportunity to think critically about how to approach possible scenarios in the clinic. Users can also save their progress and complete the test in stages if preferred.
After completing the course, there is an optional multiple choice test that will allow you to reclaim credits. The course is accredited for educational credits by the following organizations: NZAS (1 CEP), ACAud (2 CEP), AAA (0.1 CEUs), BAA (1 CPD).
