Ida Attending Joint Defense Veterans Audiology Conference

By Amanda Farah Cox

The Ida Institute will be attending this year’s Joint Defense Veterans Audiologist Conference in St. Louis, Missouri, from 22-24 February. The annual conference, hosted by the Military Audiology Association and the Association of VA Audiologists, offers a variety of sessions on new research, clinical initiatives, and innovations. This year’s session topics will include BiCROS amplification, noise induced hearing loss, tinnitus management, and cochlear implants.

Ida is particularly pleased to attend JDVAC after last year’s endorsement. In 2015, the Committee for the VA Audiology and Speech-Language Pathology (ASP) Program Office announced Implementing Patient-Centered Tools and Resources Created by the Ida Institute in VA Audiology Clinics, which recommends the use of the Ida Institute’s tools in all clinics of the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs. “Patient centered care empowers Veterans to define and achieve their own lifelong goals,” stated the official communication. “It considers their whole health — every aspect of life that affects their health and well-being.”

Registration is still open for the conference. Ida will have a booth set up for the whole of the conference, where we will have brochures and printed copies of our tools. Be sure to stop by for more information about Ida and our tools, training, or just to say hello.
