The Ida Institute has selected the awardees of this year’s Ida Research Grant. Three separate projects using Ida Telecare tools will be funded for work beginning September 2017. They are:
Helping patients to make decisions about managing their hearing loss that are right for them, by David Maidment at the University of Nottingham.
The project will look at whether patients who use Why Improve My Hearing? before coming to an NHS clinic have better outcomes than those who do not use the tool.

How do patients with hearing loss prepare for their hearing appointments and how might this help? by Helen Henshaw at the University of Nottingham.
The project will be a feasibility study of how Ida Telecare tools can be used with NHS audiology patients.

Getting ready for cochlear implant assessment using online tools at home, by Helen Cullington at the University of Southampton Auditory Implant Service.
The project will use Ida Telecare tools as part of a method to determine if gathering information from CI patients at home leads to more patient-centered interactions in the appointment.

Projects will be completed by September 2018.
Ida is awaiting the completion of projects from our first round of funding, due to be completed in September this year.
