New Partnership with Audiology Australia to Cultivate Person-Centered Professional Standards

By Ellen Pucke

The Ida Institute is pleased to announce a newly established partnership with Australia’s professional association for audiologists, Audiology Australia. Ida and Audiology Australia have had a strong relationship to date. Audiology Australia members have contributed to the creation of Ida Institute’s person-centered care resources and Audiology Australia has endorsed the Institute’s Learning Hall courses through its Continuing Professional Development program. Audiology Australia is also the number one referrer of visitors to the Ida Learning Hall.

“Australia is a leader in implementing person-centered care in audiology—particularly in research, education, and public hearing care services. It is a natural fit that we would partner with Audiology Australia as leaders setting high professional standards in Australia that include person-centered care,” said Ida Institute Managing Director, Lise Lotte Bundesen.

“Audiology Australia is very pleased to sign the MoU with the Ida Institute today and looks forward to an ongoing, collaborative partnership,” says Audiology Australia CEO Dr. Tony Coles. “Both Audiology Australia and the Ida Institute have a strong focus on family and person-centered care in audiology, which is crucial to professional and ethical standards of practice and to ensure audiologists are able to deliver the highest standards of hearing health care.”

The formal partnership is established for the purpose of engaging in collaborative activities to promote a culture of person-centered care in audiology across the world. The Ida Institute began building a global network of hearing care stakeholders in November 2017. The network is currently comprised of eleven professional organizations, patient organizations, and universities; and continues to grow.
