The Ida Institute is pleased to announce the establishment of a partnership with the University of Southern Denmark (SDU). The Department of Language and Communication and the Department of Clinical Research at SDU offer studies on audiology, language acquisition, cognition, and multimodality, and are noted for research on hearing loss and balance conditions.

The partnership makes SDU the latest university to join the Ida Institute’s network of collaborators dedicated to making hearing care around the world more person-centered. Other universities include the University of São Paulo (BR), Aston University (UK), the University of Cape Town (ZA), Rush University (US), and University of Queensland (AU).

“We are pleased to be working with the University of Southern Denmark, an institution well respected for their educational program as well as their research,” says Ida Institute Managing Director Lise Lotte Bundesen. “As the Ida Institute is also based in Denmark, we are delighted to be working with a university close to home that is committed to a person-centered future for hearing care.”

“The University of Southern Denmark is pleased to enter this partnership with the Ida Institute which will benefit the studies of Audiology and Speech, Hearing, and Language Therapy.  We have an excellent relationship with the Ida Institute and we look forward to expanding our collaboration through this partnership,” says Ågot Møller Grøntved, Clinical Lecturer at Syddansk University.

“Entering the partnership with Ida is a starting point for cooperating on the issue of patient-centered care generally in Speech, Hearing and Language Therapy Studies, and more specifically in relation to hearing care. We believe a synergy could further develop between practice, teaching and research — the partnership will undoubtedly benefit our students,” adds Catherine E. Brouwer, Associate Professor and Chair of Speech, Hearing and Language Therapy.
