The Dilemma Game consists of a series of cards describing challenging clinical scenarios based on actual situations submitted by Ida seminar participants.
On each card, three possible solutions are given for each scenario, with the understanding that the 'perfect' solution might not exist. With no right or wrong answers, game play encourages reflection, critical thinking, and an analysis of the consequences clinical choices may have on people with hearing loss and their communication partners.
The Dilemma Game can be used with colleagues, with a larger training group, in student training, or as an individual exercise. The dilemma cards also can be great material for role playing and other learning exercises.
Developed in collaboration with Ida Institute seminar participants, the dilemmas are based on actual clinical situations. The cards are color-coded to align with the phases of A Possible Patient Journey.

Teens and Tweens Dilemma Game
Like the original Dilemma Cards, this game consists of a series of challenging scenarios, this time involving teens or tweens with hearing loss. Three possible solutions are given, with the understanding that the ‘perfect’ solution may not exist.
With no right or wrong answers, the game encourages reflection, critical thinking, and analysis of the potential consequences that a practitioner’s choices may have as young people navigate the challenges of growing up with a hearing impairment.
