CommunicationPartnerships

SeminarsonCommunicationPartnerships

Enabling Communication Partnerships was the title of our third seminar series. The first seminar in the series was held November 2009.

Hearing loss affects more than one person; it affects husbands, wives, children and friends. Often these communication partners are the first to notice the hearing loss and are most impacted by it.  Their feelings of loss, frustration and anger may be the driving force behind your patient seeking help. We also know that a communication partner's active participation in the rehabilitation process is one of the keys to success.

This seminar series offered hearing care professionals with the opportunity to better understand the role of communication partnerships and how to integrate them into the hearing care process. The seminar focused on adults with hearing loss.

By the end of the seminar, participants were able to develop a shared goal setting strategy involving the patient and their communication partners.
