LivingWellSeminarSeries

Our fourth seminar series (2010-2011) was entitled Living Well With Hearing Loss.
The concept of “living well” is defined in different ways depending upon the perspective you view it from. In this seminar, participants explored how audiologists typically define the concept of “living well with hearing loss” and assessed whether their own concepts matched those of patients.
Seminar participants worked on the following:
- Defining the concept of “living well with hearing loss” as it relates to the hearing care professional and the patient
- Identifying patients’ perspective on “living well with hearing loss” using landscape and mind-mapping tools
- Exploring the use of interview tools to achieve a patient-centered narrative based on the patient’s situation
The last seminar was held in March 2011. The Ida Institute is currently in test phase with a series of new tools that address some of the issues of Living Well with Hearing Loss. These new tools are expected to be launched Fall 2011.
